CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CALCULATOR

Concrete Calculator

Estimate concrete volume for slabs, footings, and post holes, then turn it into a ready-mix order, a bag count, or both.

POUR SIZE

What are you pouring?

Add each slab, footing, or group of holes separately. The volumes are added together.

Shape

For a footing, use its depth as the thickness.

Number of identical holes or columns.

Use this option if you already know the volume.

PURCHASE FORMAT

How are you buying the concrete?

Small jobs are usually bagged. Larger pours are usually ordered as ready-mix.

Purchase format
$

Printed on the bag, for example “yields 0.6 cu ft”.

$

Extra concrete

Covers uneven subgrade, form flex, and spillage.

Extra concrete allowance

HOW IT WORKS

A concrete order you can check.

TapeToCart separates the volume you measured, the extra you allowed, and the supplier or bag rounding, so you can see where the final quantity comes from.

How the calculation works

Rectangular pours are length × width × thickness. Round holes and columns use the area of a circle multiplied by depth and quantity. All volumes are added before the extra-concrete allowance is applied.

Round volume = π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × depth

27 ft³ = 1 yd³

Ready-mix is rounded up to your supplier’s order increment, and bags are always rounded up to whole bags.

Before you order

Ask your ready-mix supplier about minimum order size, short-load fees, and delivery access. Very small pours are often cheaper in bags.

Use the yield printed on the exact bag you are buying. Different mixes and bag weights yield different volumes.

Check local code and your project plans for required thickness, reinforcement, and base preparation. Structural work should be specified by a qualified professional.

Sources and assumptions

Volume uses U.S. customary units: 1 yd = 3 ft, 1 ft = 12 in, and 1 yd³ = 27 ft³.

Bag yield is taken from the product value you enter. We do not assume a standard bag size.

Rebar, mesh, forms, and gravel base are not included in this estimate.
